“This is Beethoven’s heir!”

-the violinist who premiered Brahms’ quartet

Johannes Brahms took Vienna by storm with his captivating G Minor Piano Quartet – as likely to bring audiences to their feet today as at its premiere. Considered the greatest prodigy after Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn wrote his piano sextet at 15, and Arnold Cooke’s charming quintet counts among the legacy inspired by the remarkable 20th century English hornist Dennis Brain.
