Orion Ensemble - One of Chicago’s “most vibrant, versatile and distinctive
ensembles” Orion is currently resident ensemble at the Chicago College
of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University and celebrating 15 years of
presenting exciting and lively chamber music programs both locally and
nationally. They perform the Trio for Clarinet, Cello, and Piano in
E-Flat Major, Op. 44 by the French composer Louise Farrenc and Peter
Schickele’s Quartet for Clarinet, Violin, Cello, and Piano.

Johannes Brahms took Vienna by storm with his captivating G Minor Piano Quartet – as likely to bring audiences to their feet today as at its premiere. Considered the greatest prodigy after Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn wrote his piano sextet at 15, and Arnold Cooke’s charming quintet counts among the legacy inspired by the remarkable 20^th century English hornist Dennis Brain.
